Inherent - These disciplines are inherent in the vampiric condition.  They can be learned (and can be included with other starting disciplines, at out of clan XP prices) without a teacher (up to rank 3), though you will still pay Out-of-Clan Prices for them:
Celerity
Fortitude
Potence

Common - These are able to be taught by a mentor without selling your soul.  They're also much more likely to be taught to you by another character than some of the later categories:

Presence

Clan Specific - These are powers that are highly guarded by the clans they belong to.  Anyone out of the clan who has these disciplines better have an extremely good reason for having it, or they may be killed.
